A while back ago I was driving and heard over the radio that a young child was injured on an esclator in an Atlanta airport. The commentator was warning parents about the dangers of these shoes in the airports. At the time I thought why hadn’t the company warned these parents as I’m the father of three girls who have crocs and had never heard of these dangers. As personal injury attorney, it surprised me that I had not heard of this. Immediately I threw away my girls crocs and didn’t think a thing about it for a while.

Then I saw the following article entitled “Parents Sue Crocs After Child’s foot is Maimed in Esclator” on Foxnews.com. According to the article “attorney Stephen McConnell said the boy was riding an escalator at the airport July 15 when the machinery mangled his Crocs and “severely and permanently damaged” his right foot.”

Now if your thinking like me, I bet your wondering how many other types of these accidents have occurred with Crocs. The article states that “the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has documented 77 soft shoe entrapments on escalators since January 2006 and issued a warning in May.”

Now I’m wondering why I as a purshasor and personal injury attorney had not heard of such defects. In my experience its usually because companies such as Crocs are making a fortune off their items and via greed fail to tell families of the dangers of the defective products they are using.

I will keep monitoring this lawsuit and give updates as they become available.
