Two people were killed and one critically injured in a car and semi-truck accident near Watonga. The accident happened on Saturday night in Blaine county.
OHP reports said VanCampen’s 1998 Dodge Durango was westbound on U.S. 270 and the semi was southbound on Oklahoma 58. The semi failed to yield from a stop sign and was struck by the VanCampen vehicle. After impact both vehicles traveled south, coming to rest south of U.S. 270 on Oklahoma 33 in the roadway. All three passengers in the VanCampen vehicle were pinned, with the driver and one passenger freed after 15 minutes and the front passenger after 45 minutes, both by Watonga Fire and Rescue.
The driver of the semi-truck was not hurt. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Emergency Medical Services, and local police and fire rescue responded to the scene.
