Our thoughts are prayers are with the families of two teenage girls from Lindsay Oklahoma. Newsok.com is reporting that the girls were involved in a one-vehicle rollover accident in McClain County. According to the article the driver of the pickup became distracted causing her automobile to leave the roadway and then causing her to overcorrect. Neither child was wearing seatbelts and they were both thrown from the truck. One child died at the scene while the other was life flighted to an Oklahoma City hospital.
This is a tragic accident that terrifies parents of children of driving age. I personally know the stress that goes with giving a child the freedom to drive an automobile. To these families are thoughts and prayers are with you. To those who have teenage children we highly recommend you reinforce the necessity for seatbelt usage and alleviating potential distractions in the car. Make sure you set appropriate and strict repercussions for failure to obey these rules. In that line of thought I have come across some ideas about monitoring your teenage driver. I will list those in the coming days but for right now take a second and hug your children and remind them of the dangers of driving.
