While we typically do not like to post the names of children involved in accidents, I wanted to make an exception in the case of a blog I wrote earlier today about a 5 year old who was murdered by a drunk driver. As we discussed, a two year old girl was also serously injured and is currently in intensive care at an Oklahoma hospital.

As you might recall, a drunk driver slammed into the car of a family at I-240 and Western last Friday night killing a 5 year old child and severely injuring his two year old sister. According to kfor.com The 2 year old girls’ name is Avery Stutts. The report states that

“Last night there were reports of her possibly having brain damage and at this point we all need to pray for that little girl … a family friend of the children tells NewsChannel 4 the 2 year old is recovering, but it will be a long road ahead.”

The reason I list young Avery’s name is that according to the article, the family does not have health insurance. Accordingly, a fund in Avery’s name has been set up at MidFirst Bank should any of our readers like to donate to help this young child. I encourage everyone to make a small donation. The realities surrounding this child’s future care needs to be addressed today to help alleviate some of the worries this grief stricken family is already enduring.
