Drunk driving is a serious problem that continues to plague our society. As an attorney, its a wonderful thing to help those who have been harmed by a drunk driver. These accidents are usually castastrophic and my heart goes out to the families. Anyway, what brought this to my attentnion is I just read that an Edmond woman was recently sentenced to 10 years in prison for causing a deadly car crash that killed an Edmond man. She had pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter and causing an accident resulting in great bodily injury while driving under the influence of alcohol. Authorities say that the womanwas drunk when she crashed her Corvette into the back of a pickup truck in northwest Oklahoma City. The truck went off the roadway and rolled several times killing Joseph Sharp and seriously injuring his wife Betty.
Authorities say the Edmond woman’sblood alcohol content was tested about two hours after the crash and registered .28 – 3.5 times more than the legal limit of .08.
