McIntyre Law Releases Annual Oklahoma DUI Report

Comments Off

For the fourth year in a row, McIntyre Law, P.C. has released a new study of alcohol-related accident trends across Oklahoma, in an effort to improve the lives of fellow Oklahomans through their commitment to safety.

McIntyre Law compiled a study examining drunk driving trends over the past six years by utilizing statistics provided by the National Highway Safety Administration (NHTSA), the fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS) and the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office (OSHO). The data shows that while there has been an overall decrease in alcohol-related crashes and injuries, the decrease in fatalities is by just one from 2010 to 2011. However, across the state of Oklahoma, although alcohol-related crashes have decreased, overall drunk driving statistics still show that alcohol-related crashes remain deadly.

In fact, the research by McIntyre Law indicates alcohol-related accidents have been increasing since 2006. It is McIntyre Law’s hope that by providing this information to the community, that the state will be motivated to work toward increasing public awareness while decreasing the number of tragic alcohol-related fatalities each year in Oklahoma.
