Fellow Iowa injuryboard.com blogger Steve Lombardi has a great post regarding National Trends in Drunk Driving. He cites an annual report card by MADD or Mother’s Against Drunk Driving rankings and statistics are compiled into a story by the Men’s Health magazine.
I just wanted to expand on this for Oklahomans and give you an idea where our two major cities, Oklahoma City and Tulsa rank in this report.
Oklahoma City ranked 68th “drunkest city” in the nation according to the report. Further, Oklahoma City had over 17 fatal alcohol related crashes.
That said, Tulsa almost makes the top 25 in the nation coming in as the 31st “drunkest city” in the nation. On a better note compared to OKC, Tulsa had 6 fatality alcohol related crashes last year.
Let’s take the statistics to heart people. Drinking and driving can not only kill someone else, but if you’re the driver your life as well will be turned upside down and you will most likely find yourself spending time at a correctional facility.
